President Joe Biden signed the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act into Law.
The pandemic has left many negative consequences on us, including health personnel who, according to Axios and Morning Consult, reported that 48% have worsened their mental health, including 43% with depression and 34% their physical health of all health professionals.
For this reason, President Joe Biden approved the law that bears the name of the doctor who committed suicide in 2020 because of the mental pressure she had while caring sick patients with Covid-19. It provides increased opportunities for healthcare personnel, including new funding and educational programs to support the wellness and mental health of healthcare workers.
