What We Do
Mental health can no longer be seen as a stigma.
We all deserve a home, food and support.
Education is the foundation of society.
Neighbors provides a range of advice, diagnosis and treatment, including psychiatric and psychological services, free of charge, to members of our community with mental health needs. Our mental health services include prevention, timely intervention and treatment for anxiety, depression, and stress, among others, and psychological support related to the effects of social and cultural issues such as migration, housing and employment for the Latino, African-American and others in the community most in need in Washington, D.C.
We also provide vital community support services that guide people with social and personal challenges toward behavioral outcomes that can bring them and their families a better life and lead to a better coexistence among all neighbors.
Neighbors’ doors are always open to all residents of the District of Columbia. Our neighbors who are primarily Spanish speakers or who have very limited or no command of English are most welcome. We are very proud to help all who may suffer a mental health condition, and we never require any neighbor to pay a single cent.
