Stress Comes With Age

As human beings grow, they conduct new activities that allow them to live day by day. In the case of adults, there are many factors that trigger stress such as financial problems, problems at work, job loss, heartbreak, divorce, etc.

Stress is defined as “a state of mental tension and worry caused by problems in your life, work[1] , etc.”. According to The American Institute[2]  of Stress, 73% of people experience direct symptoms of stress, 33% live with extreme stress levels, 48% report waking up in the middle of the night due to stress problems such as those mentioned above, among other alarming figures.

The Global Organization for Stress[3]  reported that among adults with the highest levels of stress are ethnic minorities, women, single parents and people responsible for taking care of their family. Now, as mentioned in the internet portal The Recovery Village[4]  currently 3.5% of adults in the United States have PTSD. Furthermore, 2 out of 3 adults (this represents 65% of the population) state that they are stressed by the uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which will leave terrible consequences for our mental health for years to come.
