Mental Health and Independence Day

This 4th of July was marked with violence by the mass shooting at a parade in Chicago which left 7 dead and more than 30 injured.

Mental Health experts are concerned with how to balance managing the mental health of individuals who might commit a crime and that of citizens in general who want to attend large gatherings.

“There are psychological impacts for people even far removed. Many people are anxious; they’re scared to go to public events and this weekend’s violence adds to that.”
