Link between Vaping and Teen Mental Health Highlighted in New Australian Study

A new study by Australia’s Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use, involving over 5,000 Australian students has found that 20% of students aged 12-14 exhibited moderate to severe depression, with those experiencing higher stress levels more likely to vape. The research highlights the importance of addressing these issues together, despite the lack of a proven causal link.

“Students with moderate levels of stress were 74% more likely to take up vaping. Meanwhile, students with severe stress levels were 64% more likely to start using the e-cigarettes.”
