140 Thousand Children Have Been Orphaned by Covid-19

The pandemic has brought serious consequences for all people, affecting not only their physical health, but their mental health as well, in the short, medium and long term. A serious example of this is what was recently published in the United States, where more than 140,000 children have been orphaned.

The numbers were presented in a webinar conducted by a team of international collaborators, The Global Reference Group on Children Affected by COVID-19, during which they affirmed that among the states where more children have been orphaned by Covid-19 are California, Texas and New York.

«Sadly, surges in cases and deaths results in surges in the number of orphans.»
